A Legacy of Craftsmanship, Inspired by Compassion

At Parker Evans, our vision is simple: to set the ceiling for luxury in canine comfort. We believe true elegance is timeless, rooted in heritage, and shaped by the heart. The spaces we create for our companions should be as beautiful and enduring as the bonds we share with them.

Based in Yorkshire, we are a business combining traditional British craftsmanship with thoughtful design to create luxury leather dog beds for discerning owners who value quality, durability, and style.

We are a husband-and-wife team with complementary skills that provide a strong foundation for our craft. Darren brings the design and technical mastery, while Melanie provides the creative and organizational vision, our muse is Willow, our beloved rescue dog.

Willow – The heart of Parker Evans

Parker Evans was born from lived experience and a clear gap in the market. In January 2021, we rescued our dog, Willow, after finding her abandoned and tied to a post during a walk in the snow. She was underweight, fearful, and in desperate need of patient, consistent care.

Willow joined our family after a stay in the kennels, where she waited in vain for someone to claim her. Though she quickly settled into family life, her past trauma lingered. We gladly adapted our home and routines to help her feel secure. Willow discovered a deep love for exploring the outdoors, but her history left her terrified of water and handling. Because of this, standard routines like cleaning her up or wiping her muddy paws after a walk became an impossible task for her.

This meant standard fabric pet beds were ruined instantly. We found ourselves constantly replacing soggy, stained beds that trapped mud and odors. Despite buying from reputable and well-known shops, none offered the quality, longevity, or style we needed. We wanted a solution that was naturally wipe-clean, exceptionally robust, supportive, and visually elegant, with high sides to create a cocooning sense of safety while she rested.

In response, we designed and built a new type of dog bed especially for Willow using premium automotive leather. That first design became the foundation for The Statesman. Over three years later, her original bed still retains its beauty and structural integrity—requiring just a quick wipe down. It proves that premium pet furniture can meet both emotional and practical needs.

Melanie is the driving force behind the design and vision of Parker Evans, blending an artistic eye with deep practical knowledge to create beautiful, enduring pieces.

  • The Vision: Sparked the creation of Parker Evans when searching for a stylish, long-lasting bed for their rescue dog, Willow. She pairs a deep appreciation for home styling with a refusal to compromise on durability.

  • The Heritage: Her love of thoughtful design and lasting craftsmanship began at home. Her father brought the practical skill of a builder and carpenter, while her mother brought creativity, resourcefulness and a natural eye for interiors. Together, they renovated homes with care and taught her that beautiful spaces are created through imagination, attention to detail and quality that lasts. Their influence remains at the heart of her work today.

  • The Discipline: Studied violin at music college before breaking barriers in 1999 as the first female musician in HM Coldstream Guards. Serving six years in the military, she travelled the world performing high-profile and ceremonial concerts, playing the saxophone on the march and the violin in the orchestra.

  • The Spirit: Channelling a lifelong dedication to collaboration and discipline into the next stage of her career by building the Parker Evans brand. While she still shares her passion part-time, teaching whole-class instrumental studies and orchestral strings, her primary creative energy is now focused on designing luxury, heritage-quality pieces for your home.

How We Build It.

At Parker Evans, each bed is individually handmade by our master craftsman, using traditional upholstery techniques and an uncompromising eye for detail. Developed over two years of meticulous prototyping, the final design is sculptural, substantial and beautifully balanced, created to bring together enduring strength, exceptional comfort and contemporary elegance.

Every material is ethically sourced, and at the heart of each piece is a precision-crafted timber frame, designed to provide lasting strength, stability and integrity. The raised profile allows air to circulate beneath, creating a discreet shadow gap that gives the design its refined floating appearance. Carefully placed ventilation points reduce unnecessary weight while allowing warmth from underfloor heating to rise gently through, adding a thoughtful layer of comfort.

Once the frame is complete, hand-sculpted foam inserts are shaped to provide support while preserving the bed’s distinctive silhouette. A layer of wadding is then applied to create a smooth, tailored finish, giving the bed its generous, cocooning feel without compromising its clean architectural form.

The Italian leather is then chosen, patterned, cut and sewn to fit each style with precision. From the 1920s-inspired silhouette of the Statesman to the elegant diamond stitching of the Regal, and the prestige car-inspired Maestro with its decorative twin stitch, every detail is designed to showcase refined craftsmanship and the quiet confidence of true luxury upholstery.

At Parker Evans, our leather does not wear out; it wears in. Selected for its supple handle, sophisticated finish and exceptional durability, our Italian leather is suitable for home, automotive and maritime interiors. Water-resistant and rub-tested, it is made to withstand everyday use while developing the depth, character and refined patina expected of a true luxury piece.

A Parker Evans bed can take up to 20 hours to complete and is initialled by the craftsman who made it. It is this level of time, skill and consideration that defines our approach: no shortcuts, no compromise, simply exceptional craftsmanship for the most discerning dogs and the homes they live in.

PARKER EVANS

THE DIFFERENCE

Our products solve the exact frustrations we faced with standard pet beds.

  • Built for Life: Instead of repeatedly replacing lower-quality items, our beds are a lifetime investment. With proper care, including the use of leather cleaner and conditioner every three to six months, we expect our beds to last for the life of your dog.

  • Sanctuary & Security: Our signature high-sided designs create a cocooning effect, answering a dog's emotional need for shelter, warmth, and reassurance.

  • Handmade & Exclusive: Every bed is produced entirely in-house from raw materials at our Yorkshire commercial premises. Because production is limited, each bed remains a desirable, exclusive piece for your home.

  • Intelligent Design: Our beds feature built-in, ventilated wooden bases that promote airflow underneath, making them perfectly suited for modern homes with underfloor heating
